In the world we live in today it is only suiting to go over a few salon gadgets that have come out onto the market that you could get to help you run a more efficient salon studio business!

When I opened my salon studio 4 years ago I knew a few of these items were available but didn’t want to fork out the money to purchase them. Being a business owner always on a budget I knew a few of the incredible benefits these gadgets would give me but didn’t realize the full potential until I had them.

I hadn’t considered how much they would make my life easier and the space run smoother. Meaning, more comfortable for my clients, which to me is the absolute most important part of my salon!

It’s even written directly into my salon’s mission statement!

The space in salons studios vary greatly based on where in the country yours is located but one thing we all have in common no matter how much space we have is we wish we had more!

It’s sort of like more money more problems (which may be true but we can also agree for more money I would take more problems!) if we had the opportunity to have more space our minds would immediately start dreaming up the possibilities of what we would do with it. We are creative visionaries after all!!

We don’t live in this world though of infinite space so we gotta work with what we have and this cool little list of salon gadgets will definitely make you feel like you are truly taking advantage of the space you have, you’ll feel like your actually operating a business in 2017 not 1997 and your clients will see them and become excited to learn about your new cool toy!

Hair Salon Fume Extractor– A fume extractor is a specialized piece of equipment you may only need if you are doing a service that creates a toxic fume when the service is being performed that is unsafe for your or your customers. Many hair smoothing treatments have received a bad reputation for being toxic. A fume distractor is a step your salon can take to create a more green environment. You can not only register your salon as a safe air salon online but you can also assure your customers that their health is important to you and that you are taking every step possible to take care of them and their hair. Definitely not a small investment but if these treatments are performed regularly it is an investment that will be well worth it! 

Eyevac– This a very fun gadget. It sits against a wall a barely stands out at all. It’s basically a dustpan. It sucks the hair up when you push it towards it and then every week or so you empty the container area. Yes, this is an indulgent gadget. Definitely not one you MUST have but also quite convenient and surprisingly my clients love it!

Ring Light with Iphone Shoe– A ring light is a MUST! If you are a salon then you better have a website and if you have a website you better be sharing pictures from it onto social media platforms like Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram. If you are doing this already and you haven’t invested in a ring light with a shoe for your phone(a shoe is an attachment that lets your phone clip on) then you don’t know what you’re missing out on. Isn’t it frustrating doing someone’s hair to perfection and being so dang proud of it only to get a picture and feel like it doesn’t look anything like it did in person? Lighting is what was wrong. A ring light gives your model the bright all around lighting it needs to make it pop and more accurately show your color and haircut!

iPhone X- I mean, I can’t talk about gadgets and NOT actually mention the iPhone! Yea I guess any smartphone could work for this but as someone who recently had to do a smartphone switch and went BACK to iPhone from another company, I have to say apple just makes our lives easier! The camera is unbeatable and its unlimited amount of apps it has in its app store is sure to have the picture editing software you need. Trust me, I won’t name names but the equally as expensive competitor’s phone I was using before wouldn’t even let me put a watermark on my images. This is a MUST if you are trying to build an online presence and sharing on social media!

Wall mounted air processor- This is the salon gadget you do not want to skimp on! Processing hair properly takes a ton of education and skill to do it properly. When it comes to chemicals and heat you want to make sure you are using the best possible! I love this hair processor because not only is it high quality but it also mounts on your wall to save time and space! I mean, is there anything we need more in our salon studio’s than that?! Definitely, make sure you check this one out!
